i have a 1989 GT 5.0 automatic. stock rear gear. my friend is selling a motive 4.10 8.8 rebuild kit. whats the truth on this 4.10 gas guzzling thing. im not trying to lose 70 miles on my tank with these stupid gas prices.
input needed please.

no 70 miles. i believe its 15-20 loss

Generally in the city you will stay the same or get slightly better say 1mpg more. On the highway you can loose 1-3mpg because of the higher rpms. So its up to you if you want to do it or not. It will make the car alot quicker out of the hole to me its worth it.
