what do i need to do the 87-93 front end swap?

I prefer the '86 front end also but I have to admit that I swapped out the front of an '86 GT with an '89 LX about 10 years ago. The cost of a replacement '86 front end was ridiculous so I went with the '89 I had in the garage. It bolted right up, you have to cut and splice the newer bulb harnesses in but it was really simple. The other thing to consider is, the side moulding is different and looks stupid if it's mixed up. You'll need new door and quarter panel side moulding and a 87-93 rear bumper (and the front spats behind the front wheel for an LX that are oddly expensive).. with the price of the '86 stuff lower nowadays, I would rather replace the '86 and keep it like it should be. If you want a 87-93, just go pick one up and save yourself the time. There's only so many '86s out there, but there are a ton of 87-93s..

You've got your self a rather hard to find car there... If I were you I'd keep it the way it is...
And did you ever post pics of her yet?

Right after I bought my '86 GT the first thing on my mind was, “How do I get these square lights out of here?” Luckily, I came to my senses and I now enjoy my car for what it is--something different. The 87-93 look sweet, but if you want one I agree with the above post, just go buy one.
