I stopped at 112 miles per hour because that's where 4th gear tops out. I was running with street tires, 4.10 gears, and had the rev limiter set at 6200 rpm. I let off at around 6000 rpms.

Now in full race trim, I use 28" slicks and set the rev limiter to 6400. That combo will top me out at around 130 miles per hour in 4th gear.

 

i would make that my priority...wouldnt have left the shop with the rev limiter in that state....i'm a big fan of the road trip....when me and a coupla friends tear down the highway for thousands of miles...there are stretches where we punch it...we go ***** to the wall wide open throttle passing 140 mph...topping at 110 is a joke no matter how fast you get there...that would mean that manny in his civic would eventually leave you a blip on the horizon...car sounds mean...cant tell what it looks like...but right now any sixer on this forum would leave you behind if the race went much longer than a quarter

nothing wrong with a 6200 rev limit people power shift at 6k and those extra 200 rpms help stay off the limiter if you shift slow, like me. the guy only topped out 4th gear 5th gear and the power this car is pushing will take him to 17x miles per hour. 2 valves dont make much more power after 6200 with stock heads and cams. he has 6400 race tune so he can trap at 125-130. i need 6200 so i can get my trap speed up to 118-120 on a 26" tire.

maybe i should get hoodpins take my peice out for another top speed run and record it on video for you guys.

car got to 110 quick looks like it trumps my 400 hp car. sounds like you have blower cams thats why you can make more power on teh stock block.

 

no joke...if your car is a track car then fine...cool...any other way you slice it speeding up to 110 and not being able to go faster is a joke to me

OK, then you have no clue.
The top speed in this set-up is somewhere around 170. Ever hear of 5th gear? And 5th gear in my current set pulls harder than my 4th gear did when I was around the ~400 rwhp mark.

I just have a question. I am thinking about getting 4.10's when I put my new tranny and torque converter in the next couple of months what will my top speed be with 4.10's... I am getting mixed responses.

 

i dont know of any calculators off hand but with 26" tire + AODE + 4.10's at 6k rpms will put you around 108-110 at most in 3rd gear. 400 hp should have you trapping between 115-120. you will kill your converter pushing it at top speeds the fluid will start to cook. thats why i dont run the car hard on teh bahns. FYI i have taken my peice to 171 mph with GPS tracking but i have 3.73 gears. i also blew my pinion seal running it that hard

my original point was that it was a corny video of an odometer...the technical aspect has become something of a quagmire...but i got myself into to it and i aint sayin i was wrong!!! so instead i'll harp on the corny video aspect...

He got to 110 in about 10 sec and he had another gear to go now thats fing fast you can say all you want about the video street but until you post somthing of your car doing anything other than sitting still your all show and no go

 

MMFF measured the top speed of a vortech blown 2v 99GT that had a very similar set-up to mine. That car made about 420 rwhp or so and they clocked it at about 174 miles per hour.
