Default just want to be sure

So I just want to check before I spend a bunch of money on stuff and not make the wrong decision.
What I would like to do is get and H-pipe becuase apparently its a deeper sound and more torque down low. That leads to a GT catback and then I want to put on Flowmaster 40 series. Is there anything wrong with this set up or should I be ok?

ok you have a problem there. you cant have both 2 and 3
just one of them. American Muscle doesnt sell flowmaster so if you want flowmaster you have to get it from another site. do you want true daul or just the look?

Yes with the v6 dual exhaust adaptor you can run any GT catback so that will work.

HerPony has a custom 2.25 in True Dual catback with Flowmaster 40's.

In Southern California it cost 600 out the door. It has a nice sound and compliments the CAI and 25% Reduction Crank pully very nicely.

When I still had my sixer we put 2.5 on it. She didn't like it so I went with 2.25 on hers.

Default You're totally right!

You're totally right!

I have a V6 that I turned into a "true dual" running machine! Long, long story short, I started with "custom" work that was horrendous, and ended up meeting some great folks and now have a super fabricator/mechanic that can weld like a computer does!

I now have stock headers into an Pypes hi-flow catted X-pipe into dual Flowmaster 50 series mufflers welded into a MAC catback kit. And...a LOT of custom fabricating to make it all work well together!

Pros:
Pypes is awesome to work with and fully warrants their products!
I like the hp increase my car has experienced with the X-pipe!
The Flowmasters! The company and the mufflers are fabulous!

Cons:
I cut out the MAC mufflers and welded in Flowmaster 50 series because I disliked the MACs. They were terribly, obnoxiously loud and the tone was awful!
MAC did not warrant their catted H-pipe, so I sent it back and requested a refund!
Droning occurs around 45mph...a result of the pipe size and the 3.8L V6 engine. I run 2.5" piping from the headers out to 3" stainless tips. I wish I had stuck with 2.25" out to 2.5" or 3"!

I wish I had stuck with the stock Y-pipe and gone dual from there back. I have had 4 exhaust systems and 5 sets of mufflers on my car over the past year! I have forked out a TON of money and time to have the system redone from the original (terrible) fabricator work. But, I'm extremely happy with the final product now. If I may ever help anyone else out, please contact me.

The mac bolt on catback is a good choice. sounds good and all you do is unbolt stocker and install the y-piped dual setup.

Hey, one more question......how much of a difference sound and performance wise is there between the y pipe setup for the MAC catback rather than going the route of buying a GT adapter and going duals from there??

I haven't heard a Y and MAC set up but I can tell you what I do know...I have the adapter and to a flowmaster catback and I for one couldnt be happier...has a great sound and rumble to it. I can't say I noticed a change in power but im assuming I got another 10hp or a little more from it. As for the gas milage part of it being improved...not so much because im running it at like 2,600-2,800 rpm to get the best sound and normally I used to cruze at 2,500.

The only major down side to this set up is that its not a bolt on and if your not experienced with working on cars you'll need to take it to a shop(cutting and welding involved). I had the whole deal installed for like $150 so it wasn't to bad I think.
There are only two things wrong with it or are normal and just bother me. The first is that the exhaust makes a poping noise when the engine is off and im assuming thats the metal cooling and warping etc. The other is that my exhaust seems to be kind of moody and chooses to sound bad a$$ when it feels like the rest of the time it just sounds good or meh and personally I would like it to stay bad a$$ 100% of the time but at least it makes noise now.
