3.8 transmission question
ok u know by now i have been trying to unbolt this bell housing from the motor for 3 daz and i just heard today that i can leave the bell housing on and just undo the rear of the tranny and pull the motor and bell housing all at once? can i do that on a 1997 3.8 automatic tranny? and if so is the anything i should watch out for? or just unbolt it and pull off? thnx in advance for ANY AND ALL HELP. i don't think the auto trans will seperate but i am not sure. i feel your frustration though, i tried to seperate my tranny from the motor for a couple of days myself before realized i can just unbolt my standard transmission from the bell housing

i read that if you take a short piece 2x4 you can put it on the front portion of the oil pan and jack up on it once the driveshaft and transmission crossmember is off and kind of teeter the back end down to give you the clearance needed to make it easy enough
