Question High Milege

I have a 99 V6 mustang with 100,000 miles on it. My warrenty just ran out and was thinking of putting some mods on it. Is this a good idea with 100,000 on the car of so what are some of the best mods I can get?

What are your goals and budget to start. Any current problems with the cars performance?

all mods will enhance the way your engine works. it will make it more efficient and what not. the only way your engine will be abused is if you put on some nitrous or a blower.

I have a moderate income with a baby so I don't have a lot cash, but I do have enough to indulge from time to time. My main goal is to improve the engine so it will lasst another 100,000 miles, but theres that little boy in all of all that wants more HP and to go faster. THere are some great deals(I THINK) on ebay like some eibach lower springs for $50 or a engine strut brace for only $100. There is even a Vortech SuperCharger fro about $1000.I need some help deciding whats best for the car.

What is means is that adding lots of power does not mean crap if you don't modify the suspension properly. Other wise, the rear end just won't go straight and the tires will just spin.

You have a lot of options, ultimately you have to decide on which direction you want to go. Also, if you rely on this car daily that also changes things. My stang is a third car, for example, so I can afford to have it down for repairs/mods, but I try to limit downtime to the winter when I don't drive it.

I would not worry too much about the high miles especially with just bolt-on mods. But, you are sort of in a financial fix with this car. A 99 V-6 with a 100k miles on it is not worth much money except what it is worth to you. IMO, this makes the car perfect for modding especially if it is in good shape. Additionally, if you ever do blow the motor, GT motors from junk yard here can be bought for under a $1000 now. Then, there are always built or crate motors too - LOL.
