Default Power Steering Pump

My v6 keeps making some weird noise only when it rains. It was coming from one of the pulleys I thought so I isolated which one it is and it ended up being the power steering (the rightmost pulley its kind of in the middle vertically). I sprayed some WD40 behind it hoping it would lubricate it and stop making the annoying noise. Which it did.

Now I'm wondering what I should do now. I really don't want to be spraying WD40 on the pulley all the time, and I don't know if i can replace it or if I would have to buy a whole new power steering pump or what.

That's what happens when people don't change the fluid in the regularly. I think almost every Pre 00 mustang I have seen has that problem because people are to lazy to change the fluid.

I know that if you overfill the fluid you can make it allot harder to turn at lower rpms, happened on my old sunfire. Did you fill the fluid to just the right level?

Well we are talking about the power steering pump. But yes people need to realize that like any fluid in your car, you need to change the fluid every once in awhile.

WD40 is not a lubricant it is a cleaner. do not use it to lubricate stuff. you should try some belt dressing or something like that
