Default CAI=Wasting more Gas??

I installed an american muscle cold air intake about a month ago and since then i have noticed that my gas has been wasting faster than usual. Is this because of the intake, did i install it wrong or what? Or is this because you need a tuner or what? any help would be appreciated.

A CAI shouldn't be negatively impacting your gas mileage. Also, if you have a car pre-2005, you don't need to tune it.

If you didn't get a connection on tight and it has an air leak post maf it can cause problems with fuel mileage as will a sensor that you might of forgotten to install. My advice is go back over it and make sure everything is hooked up and nice and tight. Otherwise it might just be you using the throttle a bit more to hear the intake. assuming its not a 05 or later car.

no you don't use it and you kinda defeated the purpose of this thread by saying you press the gas pedal more to hear it whistle lol..

Well I guess this was solved...

If you punch the gas harder, you get less gas mileage.
