Default Problem with aftermarket exhaust

I recently purchased a Pypes X-pipe(XMF19), which fits ''99-''04 V6's. The problem I encountered is the posts on the manifold that you bolt the mid-pipe to, ran out of thread before the pipes were tight. Make sense? Is it possible to purchase new posts? Or do I need to try to find some sort of spacer? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

put a few washers on it and it will move the tension surface closer to the end of the threads. And welcome to your first class of "Afro engineering"

That doesn't sound right at all.

What doesn't sound right; the washer fix, or my problem? What would you suggest?

I don't see how there is not enough threads to bolt the mid pipe on. Something is clearly wrong.

Yeah, I'm sending them some pics of it so their tech can take a look at it. I can't figure out what could be wrong, the flare on the mid-pipe is the same as the old stock. The mid-pipe is 2.5'' rather than 2.25'', but it comes with an adapter sleeve to properly mount to a V6 manifold header.

As you can see, I am reaching that "spacer" on the post before the pipe is completely tight. One reason that I think may be the problem, is that the flare on the stock pipe is deeper than the flare on the aftermarket pipe...if that makes any sense.

Have you tried to install it without that spacer? It looks like it would tighten right up without that stupid spacer there.

Yeah I tried that, unfortunately I cant get that spacer off, and those posts are hell to get off. I was kind of thinking of just swapping out those posts with some extreme heat resistant bolts and see what that does.

That spacer deal is welded onto the pipe?

No just in between the two sets of threads on the post. I cant screw it off. But I talked to AM and they said that it is a defect on the mid-pipe(the flair should be much deeper than that), and that they would send me a replacement mid-pipe. So hopefully that will solve this problem...if not its back to square 1
