Default Smaller serpentine belt to not use power steering question

Okay, I hate the whinning noise my power steering pump makes. I don't have enough dollars to get a new one other circumstances. My friend suggested that I just get a smaller serpentine belt and just not use the power steering. I need the pros and cons of doing this. Thanks

Sorry for being short, not a lot of time.

Pros: No whining noise, I guess?

Cons: It makes it much harder to turn your car which can lead to dangerous situations

Cons outweigh the pros on this one

True, I didn't think of that. If a deer ran out in front of me at night (when I'm usually driving :P) I wouldn't be able to crank the wheel fast enough or something. I remember driving my friends R32 VR6 which he has done this to and it's only really hard steering when your not moving forwards or backwards. Other than that, you just feel the steering wheel jerk back and forth with every little bump.

So it won't affect the rack and pinion rack or the power steering pump? I'm just worried that it will mess up the rack and pump. About a year ago I bought a new rack and I don't want to have to buy a new one. I was also wondering if it would mess up the steering parts, like all of the joints and stuffs.

Thanks.
