My friend is selling a 97 cobra engine for pretty cheap and i was wondering if i could use that engine and put it into my 2001 v6 mustang?

 

Move this thread mods. dkingfrank, your friends engine is a 4.6 mod motor so thats where you are going to want to start this thread. There are plenty of people and info on here for engine swaps. IMO you would be better off selling your V6 and buying a 97 cobra if that's what you like. After everything you would have to get like ECU, harness, and everything to work with that 97, it would get a little pricey.

 

If you do the work yourself and get the parts used its not that expensive, depending on how much you pay for the motor,tranny,rear end, and its a fun way to get to know your car.
