What is your number?
Ok, I am taking estimates if you will. I know the car stock is rated at 193 hp and 225 ft. lbs. of torque. I know that in bone stock form with a 5 speed they put down somewhere in the neighborhood of 160ish + or - minus a few either way depending on dyno, weather and other factors.
Here is the deal my friend just called awhile ago and he is in the process of trying to set me a dyno for nothing to fine tune everything.
Here is the quick run down of the car as it currently sets:
American Muscle CAI
Bone stock engine
Stock exhaust manifolds
All 4 stock cats
2.25" piping
custom h-pipe
2 chamber orginal 40 series Flowmasters and tailpipes.
All of the drivetrain is stock
It also has an SCT tune that he put on for me. I am unsure of where he got it but he kept all the tunes he had when he had his 6. I know he said that with the tune he loaded the guy told him it would at minumum gain 10-15 hp given the fact that it had a CAI and an exhaust system.
So I thought it would be cool to see who could get the closest to the actual hp and torque that it puts down.

If your are lucky you might get 5 - 7 over stock and if the tuner is good, he won't be focused on peak numbers anyway. There is really not much to tweak hear and w/o a base-tune to compare to, it is really just a guessing game.
Keep in mind, the only way you will see big gains from this set up (10 to 15+ range), is if the base tune was dicked in the first place.

Yeah, that is what I was figuring on. I know that the tune is reliable and safe for what I have. I also know that it did make a little more but the main thing that he benefited from was the acceleration pickup and overall how the car run. I also know the tune took the rev-limiter off which I didn't really see any reason for because of the state of the car and I know I will not be pushing it that far considering I have a bone stock motor right now.
He told me to expect about 164 - 169.

Just my opinion but why take off the rev limiter if you know you wont push your car that far so it would not be an issue of the rev limiter being in the way. Keep in mind rev limiter prevents you from over revving and blowing the motor. You might mistake a shift and boom there goes you motor.

Unfortunately the tune that my friend put in the car is one of those that is pre-loaded custom tune, it just gets flashed into the computer and neither one of us how or if you can change it. It one area I don't have a lot of experience with. I have used a few my self that the owner can adjust but as far as this one I just used what was on it. I do know that the tuner/flasher unit has two more tunes, so as the car gets more added to it I can have another tune loaded up to take advantage of the extra power potential. Every little bit helps.
