hah i got the same X-mas present. GET THE 75 one, It works great. All you'll need, i got a little power where as my old K N filter was slightly dirty. And it gives my car a good sound, I have flowmaster 40 series and i can hear the engine over exhaust now under hard acceleration. AND i love the whistle it makes. U will find out the sweet spots to make it whistle when u get it. BUT where this is a cheaper kit u may have to bend the piece for the MAF like i did. one end was a little off but i tapped it with a ratchet to fix that. Also no instructions. BUT use the video on AM to get better instructions than any paper could give you. ANd lastly my car didnt have a temp sensor, so it left a hole in that plugs place. BUT i took a body pin and plugged it up with it. SO all in all, its the best idea.

yeah its pretty cool, its a cool upgrade. when i start my car up in cold mornings all i hear is sucking from the front end, guess its where the engines being choked a little, then it'll get quiet as it warms up. and a WOT it sounds wicked. although it reminds me of my friends ford explorer sport trac 95. all i heard in that thing was the engine suckin for air.

not like you have heard it enough from the others, but I'll agree and say go with the $75 one. That is the one I got and it works like a dandy. the only positive of going with the K&N one is that it's not metal (metal is a heat conductor). but paying for $150 of brand name wasn't worth it to me.
Good luck with your choice! oh, and I hope you all had a very Merry CHRISTmas!!

just my 2 cents but I have had both intakes. I first bought the cheep one it work fine but it was the biggest pain in the *** to put on. it was the worst 6 hours of my life. It didnt fit all that well. I had to fab up some small things to make it work. Then it wouldnt pass smog ( only in cali). I then got the K an N intake. It took 15 min to install and was hassle free.
so what im going at is you get what you pay for and it wasnt worth the Bs of the cheep intake.
ok im done now

Really you are probably better off with the cheap one. I know on mine while it did sound cool it didn't do much even with my exhaust. There are a lot of guys who will say they got 10 addition hp because the company says they will. I have seen dyno sheet both on the web and test/tunes and the average gain was only between 1-3 RWHP. I seen one being dynoed on a bone stock car and it picked up 2 rwhp. It isn't enough that you could even feel it. What it does do that you can feel is (depending) on the CAI you by you will notice that your throttle response is slightly better. I didn't notice anything with my exhaust when I put it on other than it is louder and deeper. When I put the CAI on I was still dissapointed. I got the one from American Muscle. But on Christmas day I had it tuned by a friend, (not dyno tuned). But I had a custom tune loaded that was on his old 6er with the same bolt - ons I have now. After the tune I was noticable and because the rev-limiter is off and because the motor is more able to adapt to the bolt-ons - it made a difference but still not what most guys think.
So the cheap one is the way to go.

hmm, ive had my CAI on for 2 weeks or so.. The other day i started it and it was sputtering really bad.. I'm starting to turn against CAI's becuz i think it makes these cars more vulnerable to water.. The K&N one is more waterproofed IMHO so if ur worried there then... GET K&N!
