If you read the description on that product it says, "In late 2003 Ford changed the V6's engine from a 3.8 to a 3.9 which changed where the intake sits in characteristic to the engine bay, so this CAI will not fit Mid to Late 2003 or 2004 V6 Mustangs." So no you probably shouldn't buy that one. But someone else pipe in if I am wrong.

It wasn't until the '04 models that they started putting any 3.9L's in. No 2003 models have them. If you have one of the '04 3.8L models then you shouldn't have any problem at all, because it is the same engine as the 99-03 3.8L's. I personally have a 3.9L '04 Mustang and purchased one of the CAI for the 3.8L and it still worked with very minor modifications that anyone could do if they had the same problem. Good luck!

Just curious, here....but what was the point of ford making a 3.9l mustang with just 3 more horespower? Was that it, or were there some other minor mods? I mean, there were making v6 trans ams and camaros with 200 horsepower...and ford ups the antie with 3? I was a little depressed about that cause those damn chevy people like to run their mouths.

Actually, I read on a fact sheet that they have the same HP (193) and the reason they switched is because they switched to the freestar van (3.9L) instead of the windstar van (3.8L) and the v6 mustang uses the same engine as the freestar van, just like they used the same engine as the windstar van when they were making it. I tried to find the fact sheet that said all that, but I couldn't. :/

With the difference being that those are FWD blocks and can not be used in RWD vehicles like the mustang as the bolt pattern for the tranny is different on the FWD ones to the RWD ones.
