Greetings,
I have a 98 V6 Mustang w/ auto trans. A couple of days ago I started noticing a very strong bad smell comming out of the vents whenever I use either the vent, floor, or front defrost on either hot or cold settings. It does not happen right away but after a minute or two of running the vent. It smells a little like burning rubber but not quite. It smells like some burning or melting material. Is there a fan belt that could be going?

have you opened the hood to attempt to find the source while you've smelled this burning smell? if your syrpentine belt is burning you have more problems then just a belt.
