so i bought a pair of used 1 chambers from a guy that had them on his 03 cobra and gave them to me for 120 for both. And since ive always wanted these i grabbed them when i saw them on craigslist. Got them put in and they really aren't that loud. So my plan is to wait alittle bit get turndowns with a offroad X pipe. What do you guys think? My friend said that brand new mufflers could of been louder but i don't know how that could be true.

 

and he only had them on his cobra for 3months so they still looked pretty new

 

Usually it takes a while for mufflers to get broken in, so even if new mufflers are louder, they will get quieter after driving on them for a while, but that is when their true tone develops.

Put an O/R X pipe on there and you won't say that they are not loud then.

yea if i can find a video camera haha.....instead of the off road X, jsut a X pipe with the high flow cats like what Pypes make. And get turndowns which i wanna get too!

 

I've done the high flow cats X pipe and yes it makes a difference but no comparison to an O/R X.

 

Just remember a sixer can only be so loud and still sound good.. I've never really heard one that I was like wow that's loud but still sounds awesome

 

i might to do that if i dont wanna have to worry about smog or cops
