if i were you, go back to the mechanics and very calmly tell them that this happened. tell them that it happened on ur way home, so it must have accidently been put on wrong. tell them other then that you are very happy with the job, but ask if they can help you find a new center cap.

I have factory 96 v6 rims.
Powder coated grey.
I havent had the money to do **** with my car yet.
Im trying to decided on whether or not I wanna save for a bike, or start workin on my car...

But yeah.
That autoshop is like..a 2 hour drive away, haha.
So I dont really wanna go back.
Might check some salvage yards.

Definitely do this. Happened to me in 1998. I get home with new tires, go around the car looking at them, and a center cap is missing. I go back to the tire place and the mechanic who did the install on the car told the service writer that there were only 3 caps on it when it came in. I was insistent that there were four when I came in and reminded the service guy that the two of us did a walk-around of the car when I brought it in to discuss tires and that he made no mention then nor notation on his work order of any center caps missing. I asked the store manager to go out into the shop and earnestly look for my cap. He found it IN an open drawer in the mechanic's tool box. I was livid! Anyway, got my cap back and that tire store lost a customer.

An honest mistake is one thing but I don't think that my center cap's being in the guy's tool box was a mistake since none of the others ended up in there.

Good luck with getting it or getting a new one.
