Default CAI diferent types pros vs cons

Hey, I was wandering if the benefits of having a plastic CAI (non heat conducting) out weighed the benefits of having a stainless steel tube (Heat conduction) if the plastic one is located in the engine bay and the steel one is in the fender
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me!

Plastic I'm sure is much more efficient but I would imagine at the speed the air flows through the tube that it wouldn't warm up too much..besides, our upper intake manifolds are metal as well so I don't think a plastic intake tubing would help much.

Well since most CAIs are essentially the same, and don't offer much of a performance gain on our engines (unless you have supercharger/turbo/nitrous), most people just buy one of the cheap CAIs off of ebay with a K&N filter or equivalent..they're usually under $50 and do the same thing as the $200 CAIs.

buy a metal one thats in the fender. even if the other one is plastic its still in a hot *** engine bay. AM sells one for like 80 bucks i think. ebay works wonders and so does craigs list and those are the same as kijiji......theres always ways to get somethin for less right up to untill you steel it.
