Default 2004 - 3.8 or 3.9?

Ok so I know that 2004 'Stangs were 3.8 until halfway through the year/production run, then were 3.9....question is, how would I know if mine is a 3.8l or a 3.9?

Run your VIN #. Or check your production numbers or w/e. There isn't any power difference, they just changed the Windstar engine in 04 so they figured they'd do the same for the Mustang. Minivan Engines!
