Rear end question
#31
sorry to ask, but why upgrade at this time??
your not making near enough to break a 7.5 rear unless you don't know how to drive. Ive launch with 385rwhp at 3k-3.5k rpm's with not one problem and drive now with 406rwhp on the street with nitto 555R's. still no problems.
I plan to upgrade in the near future, but mainly because i plan on turboing the car to make around 600rwhp. that's my main reason.
The 8.8 rear has the same short falls as the 7.5, it just has them a little thicker and heavy duty material.
7.5's have gone 11's and 10's on cars that take care of them. guy in my mustang club runs low 11's with his 7.5.
plus you would be adding around 70lbs to the weight of your car.
just my 2 cents.

Because I'm getting it for $50 with it being installed?
I don't think I'll break a 7.5 and I'm an auto, I'm really not concerned I never plan on hitting over 400 lbs of tq. Its just for the price it would be hard for me to pass up unless there are red flags going.
Considering it is shorter then there may be a issue with how my wheels sit, so I'll probably end up passing it up.
I appreciate your two cents, but I'm doing it for other reasons. The rear end has already got 3.73s (4.10s i'd rather have) and a posi.
Gears and a posi with an install i'd be looking at probably close to a grand.

Nah. I haven't gotten it. I am really questioning on whether or not I want to do the 8.8 thing, or just keep my 7.5. Only reason as to why I'd keep the 7.5 is because that 8.8 has been used, and how hard its been used..I'm a little concerned..
That and I don't have the money for a tuner to correct the speedo right now.
