I just got my gears and t-lok installed for $385...even though i had all the parts...i think i kinda got ripped off...but anyway he said a should wait a while and take it easy on the car cuz of the gears before i start goin fast... so when can i start punchin it? and also since i got the car back i hear this rattling under my car when i drive...is that the gears or is somthing wrong....the rattling sounds like 2 pipes scraping

 

punch it now IMO.

i had 4:10's put in and just romped on it from the get-go.. i really dont see how gears could "break in" i figure either they will work, or they will break. but going gently for the first however many miles aint gonna make a difference.

EDIT: 385 isnt bad i suppose, i paid 300 for just gear install.
And if it is making wierd noise, TAKE IT BACK.

where is the rattling coming from?

 

If its making that noise take it right back to that mechanic. Don't F Around.

 

I didn't take it easy on my gears when I got them installed. If you think it's making a bad noise take it back. Although I think when your trying to listen for a sound, you will find one to hear.

 

were did u buy ur gears n t-lock from?

 

i always give mine 500 miles to work in anything that rotates.
