Why fix it? Free speeding tickets? Go what your car SAYS is the speed limit. Then if you get a ticket just say "Oh snap my speedo was broken, look at that"THEN fix it

yea, broken speedo is no excuse.... your car, your responsibility to repair and know your true speed. though, you could try to argue the gun

to answer your question though the easiest way to know for sure is have a buddy drive down the road with you and see if your speeds match up side by side. Or look for one of those police radar things that say "your speed is..."

You take the ticket to court, and say that your speedometer was wrong and you had no way of knowing it, they will forgive the ticket. And instead give you a fix it ticket. Then you fix the speedometer and show them that, and they forgive that ticket. Problem solved. Bingo, Bango.

but why go through that hassle when he knows it is broke, and can just fix it since now and avoid the situation all together.

what year is your car? If you have a 99/00 it has a "test'' function that you can use and it will read out your speed digitally to you, where your odometer is displayed.

oops, just looked at your sig and saw you had an 01.

all legal systems move incredibly slow so to save himself a ton of frustration/inconvenience it would be much easier to just fix the problem.

I think Ford re-calibrates speedo's not sure if it voids that since you replaced the face gauges

Pcola heres how you run the test: http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/dtcodes.htm
