Now this is going to sound really stupid, but it was really early in the morning and I was really tired. I made the mistake of shifting from drive to reverse while I was going 20 mph in my 2003 automatic transmission. There was a loud noise and the car came to a sudden halt with the check engine light on. I turned the car off and restarted it and then it ran fine. Does anyone know if that transmission would be equipped with a reverse lockout solenoid?
