Default im getting some new 17.7' rims on 01 my v6, will i need to lower it?

In may im going to put some black and chrome 17x7 inch rims on my car. The tire will be 245/45/zr17. Its the last pair of these rims they have, and they will not be getting another shipment at all. The price is 700 for tires and rims together, from a shop called zisser down my street. The rims look really really nice I might add. But what im asking is if it is really nessasry for me to lower the car when i get them put on.
Here is how the car looks now, wit my stock 15's on them.

I think anything would look better than these rims here. So what do u think, would i need to lower it at all, are just leave it the same, i dont wont to do anything thats not nessary at all.

don't forget you need to recalibrate the speedometer with a tuner or chip.

you don't need a tune when you change rim sizes. Everything stays correct assuming you buy the correct size tire

you don't have to if you want to. you can but its not a necessity. I'm guessing you mean a 17x7. I would just leave stock. 17x7 is going to look really bad to be honest the tire is going to be so small.

wait till the CORRECT size rims come in...man, I havent even seen a single 17x7 that was really designed with 99-04 Mustangs in mind. 17x7 will look like skinny ricer poo. dont do it, wait for 17x8's at least, but 17x9 in ideal for the front or all four if you want to be able to rotate and not have wider tires on the rear.

guys, he doesnt want to listen to reason. the rims hes chosen are obviously not made for a mustang, and I guarantee they look like thug ricer poo.

DO NOT GET 17X7!!!! GET 17X9 AND A WHEEL CHOICE MADE FOR A MUSTANG.

also, so you say they are the last ones they will ever have? what if you **** up one of the rims and have to get a new one? then what? yur screwed, thats what.

apparently he feels the need to tard out as many times as he can.

and then commit a cardinal automotive sin by getting HONDA CRX SIZE RIMS FOR HIS MUSTANG.

There ya go... I fixed it for ya. While your putting those ricer rims on your car be sure to finish middle school and maybe go on to finish high school too! School can do wonders for your spelling!

Ok now that I had my smack talk fun I will say this.
Dude!.... they are SO right when that poster said that about you messing a rim up and not being able to find a replacement. Then you will have to buy a whole new set cause you cant find one to match. They are also correct about the 7 inch width of the rim too. That is way too narrow to go on a mustang. It really will look funny to have THAT narrow of a wheel/tire on there. Shop around on www.americanmuscle.com and pick out a set from them. They wont steer ya wrong.
In the end your gonna do what ya want... most of us do, but look at it this way. If you got THIS many peeps giving ya legit reasons not to do. They must be onto something.

I'm not going to get involved with the argument but, don't get a 7" wide wheel, that's what the stock V6 mustang wheels are and honestly they look ******* retarded on our cars.

I see I need to talk white here so here it goes.

First off when I type on forums I really do not give a damn about how I spell , nor talk to any forum, I just type and go, and since I am black, and yes I do talk some slang, when I just go on typeing I do tend to type the way I talk, and spell the way I talk. That being said, I am in college and I am doing what I do, So dont "trip" off any spelling mistakes I have made on anything seeing you are not my teacher, nor am I writing a paper or getting graded on anything. So the silly comment you made there, I think you should omit that **** from your post.

And yes since people are talking about the 7", I would like to ask what won't I like about it, will it sit in the wheel to mush. Will the car not ride right or what. Im just trying to get something that looks better than the stock rims I have on there, and Im not trying to spend a fortune doing it.

I just thought of another thing that needs to be considered. What kind of back spacing do these rims have? A big problem you may run into by getting a non mustang specific wheel is the back spacing (or offset). It is possible to bolt that rim up on your car and it be tucked so far into your fenderwell (or wheel cup as you call it), that it will make the body of the car look way bigger than the axles. Or kinda like the body is too wide for the stance of the tires.
Most guys want an upgrade when they spend their hard earned cash on their cars. The rim you speak of isnt an upgrade at all. You wont get hardly any performance gains out of it... maybe even less. The only benefit you will notice is the side appearance... yeah the face of that rim looks nice but as you walk closer and around it... all that will fade away cause of the tire being too wide for the rim and rim being too narrow for the body of the car.
