thermostat ???

Question thermostat ???

i just found a thermostat in my garage today i just want to know if i can put it on my stang. It does not say it for mustang but it say its for GM/Ford/AMC 180*F it say stops overheating and increases performance can i put this in my stang?

i wouldn't recomend doin' that kinda thing changing heat ranges around on a computer controlled car isn't a wise idea but if it's the same range i dont see anything wrong with it

So lomg as it is the proper size, it will work just fine. You can drop to 180 even if your car is not programmed for it. It just means that your fan will still run at the factory setting, so you won't get the full benefit.

i know i have a tuner to tune the fans speed. One more question i have a DiabloSport tuner how do i know which is the best setting for the fan for 180?

I am not sure what options those things give you. I thought that you just set it for 180.

BTW, you will notice that on a hot day, your car is going to run higher anyway. The radiator can only just take out soo much heat no matter the thermostat you use or the fan setting.

ok thx for your help i'm going to wait and see how to change fans before i put the thermostat in.
