2000 Mustang Automatic to Manual
What is involved in converting an automatic to a manual transmission? I have a 2000 V6 Mustang that I have put a lot of work into, with custom shocks, paint job, 17" rims, smoked headlights and tail lights, air shaker scoop...I was wanting to drop a V-8 into it and convert it to manual and was wondering what the cost would be to do this...
Any ideas?

AWESOME!! Thank you very much...it's going to cost a lot less than I thought it would...
Any ideas on how hard it is to drop a V-8 into a V-6 Mustang? I wanted to do both the transmission and the engine at the same time, and I have a good friend who says you can drop a 400 HP V8 into the frame with no problems..is this true or is he blowing smoke up my rear?

it depends on what 400hp v8 he is talking about...lol you can make anything fit for a price! i would recommend a used 05-07 GT 3V engine or a cobra 4v
but it all comes with a price...and if you are converting it to a V8 you might as well put a 6spd on it instead of a 5spd...just a thought

First off can a manual tranny be installed on your car.
Yes
Will a V8 fit.
Yes
but.........
I think your way over your head. You need to change alot basically along the lines of gutting your car out. everything from motor to the rear and you might as well do the rear end because it's puny and wont hold up.
When it's all said and done you'd wish you just bought a GT and call it a day.
And putting a 400 hp motor in there forget about it. Because after doing all that work then you gotta go to the fuel system and get something better then a tune and so on.
