The speed is limited from the factory at 115. They do so because of the stock tires that come on the sixers. Can they go faster yes. How fast I don't know I was being stupid about a year ago on an empty highway on my way back to LA from Fresno and had the needle bouncing off the stopper. How fast is that I don't know. But I will never do that again. It's stupid to go that fast on the street any street.

When i had my 6 i had 4.10's, predator, catted h-pipe, flowmaster catback, and a BBK catback, with the same rims and tires that are on my GT now and i did 147. I was running with a portable GPS and it was loading really slow because i was going so fast and the last time i looked at it i was doing 147 which means i was prolly going faster.
Since i got my GT with the blower on it i have hit 160 using the same method and it felt like i had some left.
All of this was done on an empty highway but is still stupid......but fun

It isn't a rev limiter! It is a top speed limiter. Fuel is pulled from the engine once you reach the programmed speed. It's all in the tune but it's not a rev limiter that does it.

Top speed is a finction of power and final gearing. This includes tire and wheel height too. Keep in mind that power output on our cars is not linear, so dearing can affect where you end up in the power band. Theoretically, a car with stock gearing should go faster then a car with 4.10's, but with the 4.10's you will be higher in the power band, so you may actually be able to go faster.
I have only had my Stand to about 110. I am a wimp and don't need the monster ticket, so I avoid crap like this....not to mention that I enjoy my life.
In my younger days I owned a new Dodge Daytona V-6 (1990). Don't laugh, it was a cool car in those days. I hit 145 in Utah and got passed like I was standing still by a Porche. I remember passing a guy in a pickup. He was probably doing a 100 and the look on his face was funny.
I also had a guy in a Vette tailing my *** in Ca on I-5. He was on my bumper doing about 125. I was driving a 1992 Mistu Eclipse Turbo. He got pulled over right from behind me. Cop never tried to get me. That is pretty much the extent of my stupidity.
Now, many years later, wife and kids and too much responsibility. I don't need to make her a widow while I kill someone else. Having power requires lot of maturity. Something that I did not always have.

I took mine to 130 about 5 years ago racing a BMW down I-35 in Oklahoma...the only reason I knew this is that we pulled off the highway and I asked him how fast he was going at the time and he said he was at 130 before we pulled off and I was right beside him....

the v6 mustang has plenty left at 115-120 but its electronically governed. I have heard of 6ers doing 130 but with our sloppy suspension I dont feel comfortable doing more than 90 mph. It wouldnt take much to have the azz end come around. If i had suspension upgrades it would be a different story. I wouldnt do over 90 mph without a rear sway bar.
