Default rev not falling off.

I have an 01 v6. When the revs are up they will not fall of for about 3 seconds and even when I am coasting the hold at about 1500rpm, then when I stop they to to about 900 or so. Can anyone tell me what is going on here. It is very annoying and makes shifting hard.

no its a 5spd. What i am saying is if you step on the gas and rev up the motor it will not drop the revs untill about 3 seconds after my foot lifts off the pedal. Or when I am driving and say doing 55mph and shift from 4th to 5th the revs wont drop untill my clutch is let out and drags down the rpm with the gears. If I am idleing and rev up the motor is stays reved up even if i remove my foot from the pedal for around 3 seconds.....its annoying as hell.

Clean your MAF, IAC, and check your TPS (I don't know how to check it so you may have to run some searches).

There reasonsit does that , the stock tune is set to burn off the excess gas , you can fix that with a EGR delete and a tune .
