Default Redneck style Air Intake

For those who cant afford it. and those who dont know you can get a little pep..not much by taking off the airsilencer on your air intake. you can also get a dryer vent hose and come out from the bottom of the bumper to get more air. this also gets a little more pep and rumble at least it did mine.

Taking off the air silencer alone is a bad idea on the v6 mustang. It has been known to loose horsepower.

You can buy a cold air intake on ebay for less than $80. If you want some more information just head to www.3.8mustang.com and go to the Forums > Bolt Ons.

Good to see that great minds think alike . Here is my old SVO with one on, Ram air under $15. If you own a rare car trust me you have to be creative.

Unhappy

Thanks, I dont like to think about it since I no longer have it. I tell myself how many things my GT has that the SVO didnt to help get me by. My wife misses it more than me. It was a love hate relationship with the SVO. It was great but when it broke or needed a part that was hard to find it sucked. As long as I have a rumble of a V8 and whinning of a Turbo I will be happy once more. Thats why I dropping a low compression Cobra block soon. Here is another pic before I sold the Saleen rims. The paint was 4 years but I had them put on 2 coats of clear and was super shiny

no it didn't, trust me and that little ghetto rigged ram air you got there wont do anything until 70 mph if that. So since unmodded 6 bangers reach about 80 - 84 mph on the 1/4 your ram air might work for about 1 second on your quarter mile run, assuming the clamps you used to attach the vaccum hose to the stock intake dont fall off.

Its your mind thinking you gained horsepower. Believe me, if you gained anything it isnt enough to notice through driving the car.

Ram air doesnt work unless your going very.. very fast. Faster than the v6 will go

At less than super-sonic speeds air is considered uncompressible. I won't go into the physics behind it. Let's just say you can't ram air into the engine.

If you gained anything, its nothing you could notice through driving the car. You spent the time working on it, your mind thanks you earned something from it.

Both of you are correct...Ram Air is pointless until about 75+mph

Hello Baby Stang! Glad to see another KC person!

Before I had my borla duals and flowmasters put in the silencer made no noticeable difference but I can definitely feel more rumble under my *** now... Sometimes it gives me a bit of a stiffy.
