Default soundstorm/soundstream

I'm putting a new sound system in my car. And, I was trying to figure out what amp and deck I want. Anyway, I was looking a soundstorm deck It's the last one on the page model SMP3-100R and then a soundstream amp the PCA2.760 one. So, I was wondering if anyone on the board has heard of them/knows anyone who has them/has one themselves and could give me any feedback on what they think. I may upgrade the amp sometime in the future, but right now I just want something to stick in there that will sound nice, so I don't have rewire everything when I do get a nicer amp and that isn't tooo expensive. I'm already going to be spending a lot on the system as it is.

I honestly don't know anything about those decks. But I do know that clarion, alpine, and pioneer are always at the top in terms of sound quality. I have an Alpine 9856 now since my old alpine deck a 9851 was stolen. It's the best sounding deck I have ever had and I have had alot lol.

The deck seems pretty cool, its got the usb for ipods, sub output along with front and rear RCA's....I personally will only buy alpine decks, but if you've heard them and have heard good stuff about them and your happy GET IT. On the amp, i would do lots of research cause one amp could say it puts out 1200 watts and another put out 800 watts but when you compare them the 800 one pumps more true power...Also food for thought are you gettin 1 sub or 2? If you gonna do one go ahead and get a mono block amp. If 2 subs get an amp made for subs thats a 2 channel.

I haven't heard much about them, but what I did hear was all good things. I'm not sure what i'm going to do yet. If I had the money I would only buy top brands, and top models... however, the reality is I don't. so.... we make sacrifices.... I'm not a big music fanatic anyway. Don't get me wrong I'd go crazy without music in the car, but I'm not going to die if it's not the best of best and undistinguishable to the untrained ear to begin with. Hell, I've spend about 2 yrs with blown speakers and a shhhhhhhity deck... I'm sure this will be just fine! lol. I'm more concerned with it breaking... my bf has this one deck that looked all great... I forget the name but I know it's from canada... but it'll just randomly stop playing, or the volume will go down... or it'll have little sound farts.... that's more what i'm concerned happening....

yeah but just b/c I spend $300 plus on a deck doesn't mean it wont, and also just b/c I didn't spend that much doesn't mean it will. I'm not looking to win a show for best sound system. I just want it to work.

I haven't decided on what i'm going to do just yet. I'm just trying to look and see what's out there, what I can afford, and what will work.

maybe its easier to afford it right now but it will not work for a long time. its going to have problems and you'll spend more money replacing it than you would have if you bought something good in the first place.

That is a very narrow and honestly lack luster group of companies. You left out Adire audio, Memphis, MB Quarts...List goes on and on when it comes to great car audio companies. Go out and try some stuff for yourself see what you like.

Yeah i'm still looking around. I'm getting new speakers this sat... b/c the ones in there just SUCK! lol, I don't really abuse the sound system in my car. I have very sensitve ears so i can't play it loud for very long... so I never have a bad "car thumping" syndrom...
