I plan on ordering these for my car. Any opinions? anyon work with brake labs? Should i get these? My friend got them and he said they were fine, but i havent drove his car with them yet so i dont know.. Opinions please!

Never heard of the company, but there's been threads about slotted and drilled rotors. From I've what read, going with regular rotors is usually best. Not sure though if I'd trust some off brand from ebay. You can get Brembo rotors for pretty cheap.

They don't have nearly enough holes in them to be effective. I would recomend using a drill press and at least a 3/8th inch bit and drill a few more holes. Better use some cutting oil like WD-40 to keep the bit from getting too hot.



See how dumb that sounds.

I do have a drill press, and tons of penetrating oil. I could very well do it, but i'd be scared to, ill wait till the warrantys over if your being serious. I do alot of drilling on coal truck frames so i know how well the water and penetrating oil is..

I think me might have been joking about the drilling.....

I wouldnt want to compromise the structure of those rotors anyway. Who knows how sturdy they are to begin with.

Yea i hate to bag on ya but drilled/slotted rotors are more for show. If you plan on autocrossing with em im not sure how they will hold up. All i know is they can get cracks where the holes are. Ask 01FR500 he knows about it allot.

I was joking. Drilled rotors are very prone to cracking and do nothing to help braking performance.

well i know they will be no better, i didnt get em for that,, its just they were cheaper and look pretty nice. 175 for a brake job seemed pretty fair. But yeah thats why i thought he was joking because they would have weak integrity as it is, i dont brake hard, i just kinda ease into em, so hopefully they last, if not they were cheap, so i wouldnt be loosing too much.

-- im worried bout the pads throwing dust because they are cheap and may not be ceramic like they claim

-- ALSO i plan to repaint my calipers... They have blue on them now, but its starting to fade as im cheap and use acid to clean my wheels. Will i have to do alotta sanding to get some new caliper paint to stick to em? Im gonna go with red.

In my honest opinion...

You would be better off going to Auto Zone/Pep Boys/etc. and buying solid rotors and some decent ceramic pads. You can paint the center of the Rotors black for some extra asthetics, but I would never compromise safety for a good price. Plus, you may actually even get the stuff cheaper from a parts store..

1. Auto Zone Gold ceramic pads = free pads for life! (beat that) lol
2. Auto Zone Rotors usually carry a 2-year warranty, take 'em off and swap 'em out!
3. If I had to guess, those off-brand rotors will probably rust up and look like poo within a few weeks, not to mention the fact that they are a no-name rotor and drilled rotors are known for being weak, that's a scary combo.

Safety/Quality > Price.

PS. Ceramic pads throw dust just like any other pad.. I have never seen a brake pad that didn't dust, so those claims are pretty much garbage in my book.

PPS. I've been haring of a lot of folks using high heat 700*+ engine block paint on calipers lately and having good results. I'm probably going to do my rears red to match the cobra calipers this winter.

Brakes are not something to be too cheap on or take chances with. As long as your not doing anytype of hard braking you will probably be fine. You'll just have that thought in the back of you head about how one hard braking moment could be enough cause for the weak spot to give and you'll have a broken rotor under your car.

For the caliper paint, it would be best to do a lot of sanding, the more the better. You don't have to sand all the old paint off. Keep in mind though that if you paint over the blue paint, if the blue paint doesn't have good adhesion to the caliper and it flakes off, so will the red.

My All pads are going to dust, however my ceramics dust much less then stock.

well see like ive went for 2 weeks without washing my car and right now it has duralast ceramic pads on there and i never get "black" dust, i always thought it was like dirt dust on my wheels. lol i guess i shouldnt have skimped on something soo important,, I have 90 days to decide if i like them, then i can send em back for a restocking fee, lke 10% which is 17 dollars.. then i will take the auto zone route.. I think its my fault my rotors have went bad, but then again, ive had them on for 2 years and 36k miles. thats how long ive had the car, i dont know if they were changed previously or not.

I'm telling you, I wouldn't waste your time or money on the eBay stuff. You haven't got one person telling you that it's a good idea and like you've said in the past, there are a lot of folks here that really know their stuff.

You might as well not even put them on the car. Just send them back and be done with it. I don't do a lot of hard braking either, but theres always those moments when a jackass in front of you slams on their brakes. For about $450, I got the front cobra brake kit, and a set of stock rear rotors and pads. Pretty cheap if you ask me.
