lol i havent been talking, i just wanted opinions, i decided to sell those 20's. its some other guy on here. i got my machs and ill stick with those, im all about makin my car look retro, im getin a chin spoiler soon, gonna paint my wing a flat black, i got my whole rear blacked out with a roush stripe and from tail light to tailight, then i got strips around the taillights to make them look smaller and honeycombs over that. Then im gonna get me a louver, and buy the aftermarket machs off of here with the black paint on the inside, i got the factory machs with like a grey on the inside. im still debating on the wheelspacers. i dont know if they will work with my OEM machs.

i am so glad i do not follow the trends, that i do not need to run what others think is cool.....

so the way i see it, you can run 17 inch stockers like everybody else...or you can spend a few bucks and set yourself apart from the thousands of other cars that all look the same....if i had wanted to be like everybody else i would have left it stock.

haha thanks dr.phil.

Dude, there is nothing origional about putting 20's on mustangs. That **** has been done countless times, trust me, putting 20's on a car is far from "origional"

and every time they did it, it still looked like ****.

go ahead and follow all the gangsta thug wanna-bes and slap some rims on the car that are too big for it.

you go with your origional non-conformist self.

lol

You know that by being a non-conformist, you're being a conformist? Because you must conform into non-conformism, which totally ruins the point. It's a giant loophole if you think about it.

well, i guess if yer gonna take pride in non conformity it might as well be over something as shallow as what size of wheels to put on yer car, that way you can act as if you have some enlightened viewpoint. I mean, god forbid origionality on something that is actually worth worrying about.

i mean, that is a mark of true origionality that can not be denied by anyone.

BY ANYONE DAMMIT!

do you see hundreds of pink H2's running around with daisy yellow rims? No. You know why? it looks like ****. People dont avoid painting thier H2 Pink because they are close minded, they just realize it looks rediculous.

Believe it or not, this isnt some elitist brotherhood of muscle car fanatics throwing 20 inch wheels on the bonfire. like i have repeatedly said, most people on here do like 20 inch rims, but they have to fit with the car they are on. They look great on a LOT of cars, but the 99-04 mustang aint it, they just look stupid because they call WAY too much attention to themselves and maake the rest of the car look ,like an afterthought

like i said, i like 20 inch rims on a LOT of different cars, but when you put them on a 99-04, they just stand out way too much. They DONT fit the car.

When doing modifications to a car you want to make sure the thing looks good as a whole. You want everything about the car to compliment everything else, putting 20 inch rims on a 99-04 just doesent compliment anything, instead it SCREAMS out "HEY LOOK I HAVE 20 INCH ******* RIMS!"

i cant help it you have no taste, i cannot help the fact that you apparently think all you have to do to make a car look nice is put on some "phat 20 inch dubs yop"

so i guess YES, i do have a mindset on this, and my mindset is i wouldnt want my car looking like ****.

you on the other hand, apparently think you can throw 20 inch rims on a ******* pinto and have a nice ride.

A couple of days ago we were talking about what to put an LS1 engine in, and I mentioned that a guy in town put one in his pinto and ever since this place has been hater-city for the pinto-community.

It takes a lot to make me say this to a fellow 'Stanger, but you really are a moron.

I have 18" wheels on my 'Stang and I have never seen another like mine in my area. I am sure that there are other Mustangs that have 18" wheels, but as soon as I do see another that looks just like mine, I'll do something else tasteful to stand out again.

There is a difference between customization that has taste and customization that is tasteless. I did take your advice and Google 'custom Mustangs' and you contradicted yourself. I saw some that looked very tasteful and well done, others looked so bad they could make a goat vomit. The 'Stangs I did see that had 20" wheels and looked remotely good were S197's. The other body styles look like ****. It just doesn't look right.

While you do have the right to your opinion and you also have the right to 'buy what you want', that doesn't mean that what you choose won't look like something you'd see on the cover of 'Homie G Dawg' magazine. Call me a 'hillbilly' all you want. I'd rather be associated with toothless rednecks that wipe their asses with corncobs and eat roadkill than thieving-*** gangsters that kill innocent bystanders in gun fights because someone is on their 'territory' that they don't even own to begin with, just because they want to be cool.

You are right when you said it isn't 'just your choice of wheels, it is a mindset'. While our minds are set on tasteful wheels that go with the car, yours is set on something that will not flow with the body, will not look right on the car, and will generate nothing but hysterical laughs amongst people who know what a Mustang embodies and what they should really look like. Mustangs are legends. They embody true American Muscle and most people envison true American spirit when they look at one that is modded with taste. The key is to do things that honor the car. Putting 20's on any body style other than an S197 is like taking a **** on a veteran's grave. You're defiling something that is truly American and deserves respect.

Which is why I think that anyone that puts anything larger than 18's on any 'Stang below the year 2005 should be kicked in the throat.

I rest my ******' case.

Go buy your ugly *** 20's. Why don't you just upgrade and go with 22's. Waste all that money for the rims, then the extra amount it's going to cost for the big *** tires and your car will still look like **** to any car enthusiast or mustang fan. I'm sure you will get a lot of compliments in the hood. Nobody who loves cars will actually think your car looks good. Oh, and while your at it, why don't you throw on the 20s emblem that all the original people like to put on their cars these days.

Of course if you really wanted to be cool, you would buy some junked up caddy el dorado or beat up pontiac and throw some 22s or 24s on it. Now that is original.

sorry to break to you....but you do not decide what makes a car look good. you only have your opinion of what looks good, what is tasteful and what looks like ***.

when modding you car, you should only be concerned with one thing....what looks good to you. you are paying for it, you should have what you want.

this may mean 17's or it may mean 20's and sometimes maybe 22's.....and while that may seem "gangsta" to you, the fact is that to the owner it looks good.

while your taste may be the norm, and you may be able to find 100 guys all driving on 18 cobra's to back you up....in the end its still just your opinion, no matter how many post you have or your status on this website...
