Be that it may, your car will still look ugly, be slower, cost more to replace tires, and gas mileage will be worse. So I really see no benefit in it. Even if they had 20" cobras, it would still look like ***. But do what you want, but next time don't come into a mustang forum and ask people their opinions. Obviously everyone gave you their opinion and it was all the same. 20s are no good on a 94-04 stang.

if i was worried about the cost, i would drive a civic....if i need to go faster i will open the valve on the bottle or change the jets. when i really want to go fast i will ride the bike.

 

I have had all kinds of people tell me that my car looks awesome. Black people who drive hoopties, fellow Mustang owners, regular ol' Joes, etc. I have never had one person tell me that my car looks bad.

Like I said, I absolutely agree with you on this point. We are not telling you that you cannot do it... we are just giving you our honest opinions.

Having 20's doesn't necessarily look 'gangsta' to me. The look of the rest of the car could make it fall into this category. If the owner thinks it looks good, fine. But the owner shouldn't cry and get all asshurt when a true Mustang enthusiast or anyone else tells him his car looks like dog ****.

For ****'s sake, I am a girl, I love B rated horror movies, I collect skull and skeleton things, I have a morbid fascination with serial killers and I even have a small 3' tall skeleton named 'Skinner' who rides in my backseat. I wear Halloween socks when it isn't Halloween, Christmas socks when it isn't Christmas, and I cuss like nobody's business. So don't try that bullshit-*** excuse about normalcy with me. I am the weirdest person I know and I am damn proud of it.

You can still find 100 guys all driving on 20's everyday, too. I see more of that **** around where I live than I see tastefully modded Mustangs.

I honestly don't believe you want to put 20's on a Mustang to 'stand out' and not be like everyone else. There are things you could do to your car that are tasteful that make it stand out. For instance, spend the money you would spend on those wheels and get a custom paintjob. Get custom seats installed. Get 18" wheels that are anondized whatever color you want that will still look good and not be like anything else on earth. With those 20's, you will be just like everyone else, too.

I don't see you arguing for anything original or even promoting anything that hasn't been done before.

All in all, you like what you like and you have every right to.

They do have 20" Cobras. I had a set on mine (Didn't buy them myself, they were on the car when I bought it). Everyone told me they looked awesome. Everyone thought they were 18s. They really didn't look bad at all. Now granted, there was some scrubbing issues that had to be worked out and of course the obvious cost of replacement. They will also hurt performance some, but if you aren't looking to race or any of that, then what difference does it make.

I have since swapped to some 17 black cobras. Just got tired of the chrome look. I agree with Black Sunshine that it all depends on what is going on with the rest of the car. USUALLY when someone does something like this, they are going full on body kit, chrome everywhere, paint job, etc, all the stuff that draws the extra attention.

The bottom line is, if you like the look of your own car, then it shouldn't matter what others think. Why are you trying to impress people you don't even know?

Yea, well i know that guy had to be black to like that one. People thought my 20's were 18's but then when i had it parked at college i was far away when i walked twoards it and it did look like a monster truck. Im not even kidding, i couldnt even see the wheels where it was soo shinny. Admit i liked the look but it made my car feel really unstable. i didnt like taking curves sharp or anything. i feel more comfy with my 17s. feels more solid. BUT i have noticed, it is not as good in the rain, with my 20's i could go as fast as i wanted. i didnt feel any hydroplaning.
