Default directionals?

what is the difference between standard type treads and directionals. Ive heard direc. are good for performance, but some standard treads are more expensive than directs. Just clearing up some confusion.

Im not real sure to the exact answer to your question but I do know this.
A couple years ago when I was shopping around my local tire shops for tires I couldnt find a "Z" rated tire that wasnt directional. All the "normal" tires with the non directional paterns were rated slower than the directionals. So what you said just might be right. Maybe it is performance being the main difference.

I hope ya get zactly what your lookin for though.

Directionals are made to be used in one direction only or they don't operate properly to displace water etc.. where as the unidirectional tires can go either way. The directional tires are going to be better performers all around.
