18/20 staggered would look better on an S-197 mustang, for the SN95s 17/18 stagger looks more fitting to the vehicle.

 

stick with 18s. 20s make your handling crappy and don't fit the look of the car as naturally as aftermarket rims should.

 

20's rlly dont look too bad, but they honestly do slow you down alot and they really mess up the handling, but hey where i live i need the lift they give me expecially if im to put a body kit on my car. but its anyones opinion, my mustang is a v6, therefore not to be fast just the look of a mustang is all i paid for. but im buying a wrecked v6 and gonna start a project engine with stroking and camming etc and drop it in later on.

 

Compared to 17s 18s??? It doesn't handle any worse than any other mustang.... with the 18s in front it doesn't slow it down any more than 18s all around in fact I have more traction than when I had 18's all around because the 20s in the rear are wider... I'm speaking from my experience not an assumption...

 

My Mustang doesn't look like the mass majority because I have 18s in the front and 20's in the rear.... Shame on me... I guess I don't conform to the standards of the majority of the Mustang owners of America... Well

What do the majority of Non Mustang owners who don't know squat think when they glance at a Mustang? Well some think of the average 6 cylinder model ( No offense to those who own 6 bangers) Then they hear the roar of that v8 and they say " thats no average Mustang" I have seen a lot of Camero and Firebird owners who don't know squat and think they have the **** and probally never raced a Mustang and they under rate our ponies because they have this picture of the average 6 banger with 15 inch rims that hasn't been washed in a month..

It's really not that serious. Arguing over 17's, 18's, and 20's. The way i see it it's your car so f*** what everyone else thinks. I got 20's, so what if people dont like it its no sweat off my back. They dont have to look at it or drive it. I been flamed on many times on here about my rims, and Im sure it wont be the last. But it has never happened to me in person, I have recieved nothing but compliments on my ride. But I guess I can take criticism better than others. LOL. Cause Im going to do me regardless. LOL

it makes me feel better becuz newer muscle cars are comin out with 20's and even larger, also it made my car set up really high, and i feel powerful in my 6banger! haha

 

15 inch welds for the win, Just the right amount of rubber on the road where it needs it.

To each their own...every car dosent need 17" bullits, welds,or fr500's. Some cars can pull off the 20s some cant.

To the starter of the thread: the biggest mistake you did was ask for someone's oppinion online. If you like the wheels then forget what the rest of the 16 year olds on the thread think. I dont like the wheels, I do like the 20" bullits on some cars, but for a nice looking street stang, go with some 03 cobras or fr500's. you can easly sell the 255/35/20's online for 100 or so a piece.

it's all a matter of perspective. 20's are not classy for a mustang. i'm maintaining stock on mine & 17's are just great. if i ever did change, 18's would be the largest i would go with. reminds me of those 30's with the spinning frontplates i saw on that impala the other day. oh the things that foul up our roads!

I dont like the 20s since it raises the ride height therefore defeating the purpose of the larger wheels. I have found that the bigger the wheels the lower the car has to go. I have seen a Cobra with staggared 18 - 20 wheels and it looked really nice but the guy had about a a few mm of space between the tire and fender. Also the wheel in the rear was a deeper dish compared to the fronts. Deep dish in the front as well as the rear is a look for SUVs IMO.

The issue that most are having is whats the point in making a sports car look like a truck. If you like the look of big wheels it should be on a vehicle that supports that look like a truck.

You cant make everyone happy Im sure when my car is done there will be some things people would of changed but it really wont bother me as long as I like it.
