Angry 2008 Bullitt Wheels

The pics on the website, and the description by the salesman both said that I would be getting the factory color Anthracite wheels that came on my new Bullitt. When I received them, they weren't even close. Customer Service was no help. Brian, Asst. Mgr. told me that, even though I was willing to pay return freight, the best he could suggest was for me to try to sell them on ebay!!! They LIED about what they were shipping me, and then would not let me return the goods!! Be REAL careful dealing with this company !!! They will be hearing from my attorney very soon.

I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't let you return them.

you still haven't said which website you bought them from. Until you tell us that no one can really even offer you any advice.

I actually bought them over the phone from American Muscle after an extensive assurance that the wheels were 2008 Bullitt Anthracite. I have spoken to three Customer Service reps, two salesmen, and the Assistant Manager, Brian. Brian is the one who suggested I sell them on ebay. When I asked to talk to his superior I was told that he does not take phone calls. If you have any suggestions, I'd sure welcome them.

You are right. I thought it was obvious that I bought them from American Muscle. Again, if you have any suggestions, they are welcome. I wasn't trying to be a jackass; I just figured if I posted in a few places, somebody would answer. Surprise, surprise.

Thanks, I appreciate the effort. Had I not been so definate with the sales guy about wanting to keep the Bullitt stock looking, and gotten such definate assurances that the wheels would look like the '08 wheels, I would accept responsibility. As it is, I offered to pay the shipping (They are still in the original boxes), but Brian said "no way". I should have known better. This was an expensive lesson.

Yeah cause there are many different colors of the '01 bullitt rims, and now there is a new generation of bullitt's. I don't think anyone other than Ford makes the new '08 style bullitts yet.

Exactly.

navypbr- American Muscle does't even carry the 2008 Replica "real" Bullit Wheels. They have mistaken you for the 2001 Bullit replicas...AKA Anthracite Bullits...

That could be, except that I made two calls before buying and talked to a salesman and Assitant Manager and explained in extreme detail that I had an '08 and that the color was unique to that car. I was assured that they knew the difference and they would closely match the factory color.

I think you are right about only Ford. That's why I was so excited that there was a new custom wheel out there that was the right color. Believe me, there was no doubt in AM's mind about what I had and what I wanted. I understand how mistakes get made, and was more than willing to work with them. I even went to a powder coater to see what it would cost to have them redone in the right color. The quote was $200 per wheel!

Well sounds like a resonable reason for return to me. Don't know what to tell ya man.

I think you are right on the money. The picture on the website looks very close to the '08 Bullitt color, which is why I called twice before I ordered. Both guys I talked to knew that I had an '08 that I wanted to keep "stock" looking.

Yeah don't even consider getting them powder coated unless you got connections with someone working there lol. Way too exspensive.

Thanks for the sympathy. It really DOES matter to know that somebody understands.

I race a mini-sprint and went to my regular powder coater. He said the real cost was in removing the original powder coating without damaging the wheel.

Yeah the "REAL" 2008 Bullits are a darker charcol color rather than the lighter anthracite.
