Default Offset wheels

So i'm looking to get a new wheel/tire package for the 2000 GT... it has those ugly *** stock rims on it and just doesn't do the car any justice. However, I though about a 17x9, 17x10.5 or 18x9, 18x10.5 setup and don't have an overabundance of cash. So I was wondering when the setup is staggered like that how much worse the tire life is?

Tire life is not affected when the rims sizes are offset. Tires for the 18" rims are gunna be alot more pricey than tires for the 17" rims. Thats somethng for you to think about.
