Default tire brands and sizes

I have 275-40-17s in the front and 315-35-17s in the back and they are sumitomo's. i was wondering if anyone could help me choose a different tire. i was thinking about goodyear or bfgoodrich but they are very expensive. i called discount tire and they said they couldnt even get a 315-35-17 but he said he could get a 315-40-17. Is their much difference in the two or should i stick with the 315-35. thanks for the help

If youre running a 17" wheel you dont want to go with a 35 profile. It will be too low pro and uou wont be happy with the look of them, especially in the rear. My opinion is that you need a bigger fatter tire in the back, since its a rear wheel drive car. 315/40/17 is a good size tire! I recommend BFG's, thats what I run. BFG makes a great tire. I personally run a 295/35 on my 18's. Nothing but good things to say about it too.

315/35/17 is the most popular size for 17" wheels in the back of our cars. lol

exactly...thats what I have...works great, looks great and best of all...lol...it matches the sidewall height of the 275/40's I got up front.

The thing sparta might not realize is that the 35 in 315/35/17 is proportionate to the 315. 35 on a 315 is plenty of sidewall...as is 40 on a 275.
