Default Alternative tires for 17x10.5"

Are there any other tires besides Sumis (out of stock for another month "or 2" according to AM) that are < $200 each and good for daily driving on a 17x10.5 wheel?

I was looking at Nitto DR's but that would seem kind of weird on a stock v6, and wouldn't I get pretty bad wet traction with DRs?

I read this from another forum, is there any truth to this?
a 285/40/17 has a total diameter of 25.97 inches, so we can call that 26". The 315/35 has a diameter of 25.68". So you are looking at a difference of a little more then a 1/4 inch. Not too bad. The contact patch is right at 11 inches for the 285 and 12.4" for the 315. So there is a little difference in size, but not too much. Of course tires are all different from each manufacturer. So, you know a 275/40/17 is the same overall diameter and is rated for a 9 to 11 inch wide wheel. So you can run a 275/40/17 no problem on a 10.5" wide wheel. I have done it numerous times and they work just fine. Of course a 285 will give you a little more meat on the ground, but not too much.
Any ideas/thoughts?

I'm interested in this as well. I need a new set of rear tires for my 10.5 and I was counting on AM having the sumis in. I guess I'll wait another month or so and see what happens. I had to put my stock crappy V6 wheels back on because my tires were so bald. Hopefully someone can chime in with an idea.

Have you looked into tirerack.com and tires.com (aka discount tires)?

nitto drag radials or you could look into the GS-D3's but those cost a lot.

Yeah, Goodyear and there are some good BFG's or MT's, but I doubt they are under 200$. I'd like to see a picture from that guy with 275/40's on his 17x10.5's. Talk about being cheap.
