Another FR500 question
I know this topic has been worn out but.... Im about to purchase the black 17x9 and the 17x10.5 FR500's as well as the tires that Mustangtuning.com suggests. I have a 1997 Mustang 3.8L V6 will i have to do any fender mods to keep it from looking to wide and hanging out the fender if i get such a wide tire i guess 315's in the back? Also I want to get the Cobra R center cap for them but they dont come on the 17's should i just go up to the 18's if i want them that bad? Or is there a place i can get Cobra R center cap to fit the 17's or any way to mod the ones to fit from Mustangtuning.com???
Thx

I disagree. Nobody thinks my car is a cobra, nor am I posing as one. However, most people who see the center caps, think that theyre cobra rims, but i just tell them theyre not.

Amazingly enough, I'll actually answer your questions for you:
You won't have to modify your fenders at all with the 315's on 17x10.5. You will have to "adjust" your right side tail pipe, flip or remove your quad shocks and, probably, have to massage the inner fender wells with a BFH. 315's on 10.5's will fit perfectly flush with the edges of the fenders. The "Cobra R" center caps will fit these wheels just fine. They are available from lots of sources including eBay and 50resto.com. I have the black Bullitts from MT and my factory SVT caps popped right in. The R caps are the same size, as are almost all of the Ford center caps.
Here's a pic of the finished product.
