Default Question on using wide tire up front

Hello all!

I was curious about the 18X9's fitting the front, so I decided to swap the wheels today. The 275/40 18s fit with no problems except i had to use the provided spacers to clear the calipers. I have two questions. Is there alignment or bearing problems that will arise with using such a wide tire for the front? and, Any cautions when using a spacer? MT provided a .25 spacer, I think, I can get away with something half that.

Thanks for the advice.

PS What tire should I use for the 18X10's in the rear.

the fact is, drag racers use skinnies in the front because thicker front tires make you slower. sure it may be convenient for rotating the tires, but like you siad, you risk rubbing issues, but it just makes you slower.

As for 18x10, I'd say 275 biggest to be safe but 285 or 95 may fit.

You should be able to fit at least a 295 on the rear.

The wheels being further out does put a tad more stress on the wheel bearings but thats not enough to be a concern. I always get a alignment with new tires just because but probably not ness. Worst part of wide tires in the front will be that they will follow the grooves of the road and steer for you at times.
