tires and lowering
not sure if this is the exact place i should post this ... but i have cobra r 17's on nitto 555 275/40/17 on my 2000 v6 ... there is a lot of space in between the fender and wheel on the front and back so i wanted to get some lowering springs and drop it about 2-2.5 inches ... this wont be a problem will it be??

That is an extreme drop for your car you'll need more than just springs and an alignment for that. CC plates, bump steer kit and new ball joints to make it work for ya. I only dropped mine a 1" put 18x9's on and bumpsteer problems all around. Switched to 17x9's no help with bumpsteer. So now 4 bolt c/c plates and bumpsteer kit are next on the list. Some cars with the proper looking rim and a drop that low look good. I wish I had a camera everytime I saw a mustang with ****ty ricer rims and lowered too much! Everything should be done in moderation and consideration of the effects it will take on handling looks and the wallet before you do any kind of mods. But that is my .02 Just get some eibach springs or a FRPP C-Springs. Not too much of a drop but low enough to smack the hell out of speed bump if not careful. Make any sense I think I just blacked out for a sec.

basically when the suspension is steering the car instead of the driver.
when you have a lowered car and you hit a bump, the car moves in a certain direction because of the bump. a bump steer kit is designed to keep the car driving straight in the direction the wheel is pointed.
