What Suspension?!?!?!?!?
Alright guys
the famous ?
what suspension should I go w
i have a 95 v6 manual
few bolt ons
dont plan to add a power adder
in the future may go v8 but everyone says that a bad idea so i prob wont
car is my daily driver
the bare min i want is shocks struts spring camber/caster plates and bushings
i dont no if im leaving more important things out or how i should go about it
any advice would be awesome
also i have friends who "say" they can do this and have muscle cars of their own
should i let them do it to save money or should i take it to the shop?
is this something that someone would easily mess up
thanks in advance
also my budget is around 1200 for the parts
really less but i will spend what i need to w/in reason to get it right

We need a little more info to help you out. What type of driving do you plan on doing, I am going to assume spirited street driving. If so I would recommend a rear sway bar if you don't have one (can't remember if the 95 V6 does or not) and this http://www.maximummotorsports.com/st...roducts_id=185

Well that comfy ride and performance have an inverse reationship. As the handling becomes better you sacrifice ride quality. The only time this doesn't apply is if you uprgade to coilovers which won't fit into your budget. If the comfort is more important then go with Eibach/UPR prokit matched with Tokico HP's/blues. The prokit gives a great stance and is a very comfortable ride.

MM rear lower control arms
MM full length subframe connectors
KYB shocks and struts
Steeda Sport Springs.
that is the bare minimum you should have. you could throw in MM Caster/Camber plates but it is not necessary with above springs and your style of driving.
i have an Eibach Pro-kit with tokico d-spec shocks/struts and it rides much better than stock. then again, i have the d-specs on the softest setting for street driving. i can go over larger bumps with less bouncing than the stock. but if i adjust the firmness, it feels like im in a race car that is not meant to be on the street. lol

Cheap, daily driver worthy suspension w/ good handling:
MM rear lower control arms
FRPP Handling Pack (stiff, but not too stiff and a reasonable drop)
Sub frame connectors
MM CC plates (adjusting caster is important, even on stock cars)
Poly rack (non-offset) and front control arm bushings
New rubber bushings for the upper rear arms (the rubber back there is old and only rubber should be used)
Essentially that's what's on my car and it makes for a great DD combo w/ great handling. I don't have a problem w/ speed bumps and I can take the turns better than w/ my old Eibach pro-kit springs. As for price, what I listed should run you around $1600 but again, looking for deals would make that less. Also, having someone else do it would be much more expensive so I'd let your friends help as it's not too hard to do (except the sub frames, as they need to be welded in). Also, I'd pass on the HD sway bar end links as SN95 cars already have poly end links.

If you want a decent ride then steeda springs, Eibachs sport springs, Ford racing C springs (aka Bullitt/Mach1 springs) all have a good ride when used with a shock that isn't that stiff.
Suspension work is not to hard. If you can fallow some instructions from a haynes or chilton manual and are decently mechanicly inclined you can do it.

Basically, you're right. Everyone has a different opinion what's a DD, what ride height is appropriate for it, and what's acceptable for handling. For me, the 1.5" drop that most springs provide make the car look the best, but isn't practical if the car is a DD. I've scraped way too many times w/ my Pro-Kit and I find it unacceptable that my Bullitt/Mach 1 springs are stiffer, yet they raised my car 3/4" over the Pro-Kit. As a result, I have yet to scrape w/ my current set-up and despite being higher up, my car has significantly less body roll in the turns (thanks to the stiffer springs and the correct front roll height). However, you may find that you rather have a softer ride and that a 1.5" drop won't cause you to scrape like I did. Again, pick the parts you prefer, it is after all your car. If you want FRPP springs, check out buyfordracing.com. I got my handling pack from them for $500 shipped.

Suspension is very opinionated. I have tried to get away from suggesting specific parts for a person who has no idea or doesn't have any plan becuase what is good for me, isn't good for everyone. I have become used to a stiff, rattle your teeth out, ride. My car is very low, less than three inches between the ground and my catalytic converters. I actually high-centered the car yesterday, a whole story in itself. But what I can tolerate is not the same for all. What I desire in performance is not the same for everyone. I have 350lb coilovers and just received some Maximum Motorsport 450-515 spring rate torque arm springs today. So I have a rough ride on bumpy roads to say the least. If one desired good handling with "livability" then there has been some good suggestions made already.

i dont have cats though
so in response to that should i drop 1.5 given my situation
honestly i can care less bout my ride as i think bout it
i have been riding horrible for this long so it doesnt matter

i have the Eibach pro kit and dont scrape on anything except for extremely steep inclines or speed bumps that are just gigantic and my mufflers scrape. thats it. i would love to get coil overs and lower it a tad in the front and about .75" in the back.
