Default Tokico D-spec and Illuminas?

Lowering my car with H&R Super Sports and was looking for adjustable shocks/struts. Car is daily driven and plan to do a little autocross as well. Was originally looking at the Illuminas but the D-specs aren't that much more money and yet they are 16-way adjustable instead of the 5-way that the Illuminas are. Opinions? Should i just spend the little extra $ and get the d-specs? Experiences with either? Are they a good combo with the H&Rs?

The D-specs are going to be basicly the same as the Illuminas except you have either a wider range of adjstability or a specific adjustability, I'm not sure which, may be a blend of both. The D-specs are worth the extra dollars if you plan to use the adjustability to tune in your suspension. I have the illuminas and have all the adjustability I really need. Ofcourse if I had the D-specs I would use the adjustability. It depends on how you plan to use them. Both are sutable for coilovers, and autoX and open track.

Thank you, thats the kinda info i was looking. I personally think 16-way might be too much for me, 5 seems like it would be all I'd really need. I figure I might as well spend the little the extra money and have just that much more adjusting ability.

To have the ability to adjust it nice, if you use it. I make due with my 5 settings. When you have 16 settings like that, you end up only using a few. I can't see any typical driver being at #16 and thinking dang I need that #17 or thinking I should really take this down to #15. How much different could 15 be from 16. If I was buying from a place like MM where the price difference is like $20 or something then I'd go for it. But I got my Illuminas for a little over $400 for the set.

Yeah. I really don't see my self using more than 3 of the settings. One soft, one stiff, and a happy median, other than that I don't think the other 13 would be used. Id have to really play around with them to find the settings I want.
