I have had my H&R springs on my car for over a year and the passenger side has always been higher ( gap btw the fender and tire) by about a inch or alittle more. Well I just had a set of LCA installed by a very good mustang shop. I was hoping that the mabe this would level it out in the rear? Well it didnt, in fact the LCA raised both side alittle more but the passenger side is even more noticable in height then before. I'm not upset that the rear is alittle higher but that it doesnt sit level? The pig tails r both facing the driver side and none of the isolators r pinched. Someone told me that the springs may be side specific? But the instructions never mentioned this when i installed them from the get go. I might try to switch the spring but I plan on calling H&R first to find out if they r side specific? Has anyone had this issue with lowering springs and if so what did u do to resolve this? Any help would be great.

 

My rear driver's side is higher by a little less than half an inch. I think it just varies from car to car.

 

Global West makes spacers to fix this, if you want. I think the problem stems from the massive tolerances Ford has, the fact that since more weight is on the driver side, the springs sag more, etc.

 

I had the same damn problem with my car. Put in the Eibach Pro-kit, everything was fine for a while and then I realized that the driver's side was about an inch lower. So I thought it was the springs, and I swapped them out to B-springs. Same damn problem. I had never gotten instructions (or ever heard) that the springs were side specific, so I doubt they are. I needed some stuff done at a local shop so I asked the guy to see if he could figure it out. He said that he took out the front isolators (which I will be putting back in because I didn't want him to do that) and even swapped the springs from one side to another but it was still uneven. He said that taking out the isolators did help a little. I needed new rear shocks anyway (increased spring rate wore out the old ones pretty bad along with quite a few hard launches at the track), so I decided to get new KYB shocks/struts. The car will hopefully go back on the ground this weekend, and after I set my alignment (also put in tie-rod ends, cc plates and ball joints) I'll take the car out around town and then check to see if it settled unevenly again. If so, a call to Ford is in order to see if they were side specific. If all else fails, I'll be making a call to Global West.

 

The fronts are not side specific. I would check to make sure that the fronts are "seated" properly in the lower controll arm. Also, possibly one of the springs is sagging? Did you buy them new?

 

Well I havent had anytime to switch springs from on side to the other. And as far as I know the springs are not side specific. I have a friend with the same H&R springs and his sits even He told me that they shouldnt be side specific. I just cant stand it b/c from the rear the car sits alot higher on one side (passenger). It drives me nuts!!! I did buy these springs new. I know that drag springs will sit uneven but these are not drag springs. They are 1.5 inch lowering street springs. I still have to change out the shocks and struts so mabe I will take out the isolators on the one side to see if it makes a difference? I will say that the LCA make a big difference in ride and traction, much better. If i knew that the rear would still sit uneven I would have gotten the weight jackers LCA's instead!

 

Well I guess you can swap them side to side, take a note of how they are seated in the spring perch. Let us know how it comes out.

 

I dont know about the newer stuff, but in the old days the drivers side was always a little lower or spring rate was a little softer because of the crown in the road. The center of the road is a little higher than the shoulder so the water will drain.

 

I dont think that is the case I have seen plenty of Gt's and Mach 1 with lowering springs that seem to sit level. Plus it sat level before the lower springs. Right now i am just going to live with it until I get new shocks for the rear which should be soon. thanks

 

I'm having the same problem right now with steeda sport springs. Had the complete suspension done last week. The passenger side sits 1/2" higher both front and back. I'm getting an alignment tomorrow so we'll see if there will be a difference.
