Spring install?

Spring install?
I ordered some super sports earlier today, and I would like to install the springs myself. I read the article on mustangworld (http://mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/steedaspring1.htm), and it seems really simple. Has anyone on here installed them their self and have anything to add to that articles instructions, or another better way of installing them yourself. What tools will I need? Any advise or instructions would be appreciated.
(I don't want to try it, do it the wrong way and end up injuring, or killing myself because I took the spring out the wrong way.)

As long as you have a jack supporting the front A arm and something like a spring compressor or even a chain around the spring, so theres no way it would pop out at you. The way i do it and have always did it.
Put the car on jack stands, remove the wheels, hyd jack under the A arm on the side i'm working on to put alittle tension on it, everything apart or removed, then i hold the spring in one hand/elbow locked, and very slowly lower the jack, and the spring will fall out.

I did mine with a buddy and the instructions given are great and well put and the way it should be.
Good luck. Its not hard, just a little time consuming. It should take you about half an hour at each spring to be on and off, and ready for the next corner.

I know for a fact that you dont have to remove the struts and shocks to remove/add springs. We put springs in my car last week and didnt remove the shocks and struts. Also we didnt even have to take off the calipers. I did anyway but it wasnt necessary.

Well I started my spring install today, I got the rears in and I'm going to put the fronts in tomorrow morning. The rears were super simple, took me about 30min start to finish, I put the springs and pinion snubber in. I'm hoping the fronts will be as easy as the backs to get out, but we'll see.

You appreciate things more when you do it yourself, plus now if a friend needs help you can help them out now. Good luck with the front.
Yeah, i've done my saleen alone probably 6-8 times (fronts) for different things, people will ask me why is my car on jack stands all the time, i just tell them i'm changing, cleaning, or fixing something. I've done about 5 other cars on springs install, and did it on my 95 GT about 3 times, 1st time took me about 2 hours, taking my sweet time and was kept thinking i didn't want a spring to go through my chest...never have used a spring compressor....

Hell i changed out my ball joints myself today and it took me almost 20 mins doing that and i was taking my time. Didn't have to take the springs out but i still had to take the wheels, rotors, calipers, unbolt struts, tie rods, unbolt balljoint and move spindle to the side. I left the sway bar on to help hold the a arm up, plus i had a jack under it for safety. car is on jackstands. Remove the almost new balljoints for the Steeda balljoints, trying to raise my spindle alittle more...
