Second weekend in january...Bakersfield, CA. So far there are 3 members that are definately going to meet up. It wont just be a few from the forum, we are joining up with a whole other group. There should be about 10 mustangs, few lightnings, Z06's, and more...Throw a reply if your in the area or willing to make a drive out. We will be cruising and there is a drag strip in Bakersfield also.

 

im gonna head down, im bringing 2 of my buddies with mustangs as well.

Hey R3D you paying attention to this thread? Have you designated a spot to meet up at yet? This is the second weekend in january right?

 

I was thinking about the denny's on 99 as the meet up point. It's easy to find and the parking lot is pretty big.

 

Thats cool, we can get our grub on. So where are we cruising around at? i wanna see the area, i've never been to bakersfield myself. Think we will be able to make it to the track, did you ever find out if it was open on saturdays? Or are we trying to meet up on friday?

 

Which Dennys on 99? Theres a few lol. The one on White Ln at the 99 or which.

If you want to be seen I'd recommened the Dennys on Rosedale Hwy.

Remember, Saturday night is when everyone is out around here. (Still haven't been able to find out about Famoso, its a toss up right now.)

 

oh ok, well could you keep up with the track details for us. I will go out there friday night just to go to the track and then meet everyone up saturday. Unless this could turn into a friday and saturday thing. Friday go to the strip and saturday go cruise...that would be cool. i would definately do BOTH

 

I don't know for sure... I know there's one on right off 99 but I don't recall the exit... last time I was there was a return trip from vegas so as you can imagine many of the details are fuzzy at best hehe.

I seem to recall there being a shell station directly across the street. Any of you local to the area should feel free to set up the best exit. Somewhere easy for a bunch of cars to get out of the lot and onto whatever route we'll take to the track or the start of the cruise. I'm down for the 2 day event...

Easy exit..uhh... white lane would probably be the easiest without having too much of a drive.

Dennys is also on white lane.

I'm trying to find out about the track but the people who run it haven't come out with a schedule yet, so everyone around here is trying to figure things out.

Once the day gets closer or whatever, i'll give yall directions to the Dennys off the 99 on White Lane. I'm heading out tonight to talk to some of the boys so i'll see what all is going on.

 

Well hell yeah!! I'll be there Friday to hit up the strip with you and whoever else can make it. Then saturday we will do the cruise. I'm going to finish all the work on the car and wait until bakersfield to be the first time I take it to the track. I cant WAIT to get home now man and get everything going.

Ok cool, just keep in contact with the locals. We will show up friday since its open fridays, and IF it is open saturday then im down to go again, but i dont know about racing back to back nights.

 

Well I know that last night there was a test & tune.. but the guys I needed to ask weren't around a few of them have got the flu right now.

I told the other guys that we were going to be visited by some out of towners wanting to hang out and they are all for it.

Hopefully by January my little 6 will be in good working condition again.

well that sucks, would have been nice to see you run some NOS at the strip in january. I will be heading out there friday night to go to the strip, so we need to schedule some dates and times...hey red can we lock this on for the second weekend of the month(the 11th) and whoever is going to the strip obviously meet up like 2 or 3 hours before the strip opens up. That way we make sure everyone can make it through traffic and whatnot.

where do you live? well it would be awesome if you could make it down too. There are quite a few people going to show up. there are 4 for sure going. I hope its going to be a 2 days thing. I want to go to the strip to see what all the new stuff is going to run, and then the next day is the cruise.

We need to agree on a place to meet on friday to head over to the drag strip. We should meet at the same place that we are going to meet on saturday, imo. I have NO clue of the area and will definately be using mapquest to get there, but we will obviously be following you to the strip since you know where it is. Less than a month left in iraq!!! I cant wait to get home and put all the pieces together and get ready for the weekend event!!

i have a SRT-4, and 3 bikes going to join and go to the track night, all from base(other marines from my shop)

 

If I have the time then, I'll be down to go. Maybe I can get my buddy to bring his dad's 06 viper to "tag" along..haha. If I can make it, I'll cruise with
R3d since he is the closest.

 

so thats about 10-12 mustangs, srt-4, a few bikes, MAYBE a viper...plus whatever else the other car club brings. This should be a good turnout if we run into them. I just cant wait to get to the track man!!

The Track is either FRIDAY OR SATURDAY. Still not 100% sure, and I know they've been running on it lately, but I think its a once a month deal, however.

Muscle of Bakersfield meets up Saturday nights.

And yea, we can setup a meeting place somewhere and stuff.
