i had a friend die on his bike. this is why im in a car, not a bike. i put much thought into if i should still get one or not. its a terrible thing to loose a life or some1 you've respected. i feel for this guy and his friends and family cuz i know what its like to loose some1 close. as for street racing, im still goin to do it. its a stage i suppose. gotta grow out of it, and im not ready to do that quite yet.

 

not ready? that alone means you are ready to die or kill others in your street racing ventures. sad. I guess you're right, you need to grow out of it....basically that means grow up. I hope you do it soon, for your sake, but more for the sake of the innocent.

the fact he was on a bike had nothing to do with it, he wasnt racing, the 30 year old driving the car that hit him was racing.

Not going to comment on the street racing ****, I'm pretty much fed up with it all, the only thing I can say is, funny how people are "safe" but..people still die.

A guy on a bike is generally on the lookout for the idiot, and I will say that the average rider, who has been at it for a period of time, is safer then most guys behind a vehicle. Because the dude on the bike knows he'll lose.

In most cases, when a guy on a bike dies, its normally bike vs. big vehicle..such as a car, or an 18 wheeler...

And from what I know from my friends who have either passed away, or done some serious hospital time, its because the car either cuts them off, or "doesn't see them"

Regardless, when your on a bike, and you hit an object, your chances of life are slim if you are going at any rate of speed over 30. The people that know this and take it to heart are the ones who are safe from their own fuckups. Not the 19 year old kid who wants to do a buck eighty down the ****** highway.

Meaning basically you ARE ready to not only put your life at risk, but all the people around you. From the single guy on his bike with no family tree below him, to the mother, father, and 3 kids in the minivan heading off to a baseball game. The fact that seeing stories like this doesn't make you sick and make you stop racing is pathetic, and as politically wrong as it may be. I hope you crash next time you drive. Now then, while I understand dream's argument I can't agree with it at all. Bungee jumping et al are actions that are dangerous generally only to the immediate participant. There is little inherent risk to those in your vicinity when you jump off the crane or chew up the puffer fish. Street racing however is a different story and more akin to walking into an uncrowded field (you know... one with a few people in it but not many so as to reduce the number of targets) and spinning around blindfolded while shooting a pistol randomly than bungee jumping. You are breaking the law and lacking the ability to close off roads completely you're subject to a little random chance of collateral damage related to your event.

There's nothing exculpatory about my previous post either. While Dream is definitely not helping matters the core of the problem is a general lack of personal responsibility and situational awareness. I use my noodle and judge my risk of damage to me or others or property constantly. I think if you start seeing 16-25yo people thinking about their actions before taking them and displaying personal responsibility that you should probably look busy and innocent cuz Christ must have just returned to cleanse the world of sinners.

1. Grow up and grow out of it
2. Start making some money and get out of his mommies home, and go to a track after tossing the 6, or doing something to it.
3. Hit something so hard on the street that it either seriously injures him, or someone else, which may or may not result in death.
4. End up in prison on manslaughter/murder charges because of #3

He obviously has no care in the world about anyone but himself. He explained that when he said "I have friends who have died street racing" and yet continues to do it.
