How is he a crook? The guy DIDNT read what the auction is about. That is the first rule in ebay buying disclamers. READ THE INFO!!! Its the morons own fault he bid 300+ on a cardboard box. Secondly, he didnt take the guys money. He simply pointed out that the guy was a moron and let him realize his mistake. Yeah he made him pay the ebay dues for this mistake but its a lot better than shipping out a cardboard box to someone with another one inside for 300 dollars.

You know you should be reading the auction before you are about to spend 300 bucks on something on ebay.

i think everyone of the ppl with a problem with this have prolly been scammed or somthing---first off if you can just bid on somthing for 300 bux without reading it then ya you deserve to get screwed...i dont kno bout the rest of u but if i was spending 300 bux with the click of a mouse id be damned if i get screwed id kno everything ther is to kno bout the seller and wht he is selling---and as far as these comments about morals and scumbag stuff well guess what get with the program ppl are always out to make a buck and thers nothing wrong with that---i dont blame him a bit--hell id do the same damn thing--and id take the money--then theyd learn their lesson or maybe not maybe the guy was that damn loaded that he couldnt care less about 300 bux

Sorry maybe its me thinking business-like again.

I never said what he is doing what right. Morally it is wrong to do, absolutely. What I am saying however is that from a business point of view, although it is always important to practice good business ethics, he put an add on Ebay that said he was selling the box and the description said it was a box. Maybe the buyer ASSUMED that he was selling the real console, but that is not the sellers fault. But any person out there who thinks they can get an XBOX 360 from Ebay for that cheap is a moron.

Remember there is always a catch.....

zigzag321 are you gonna tell me you have never done anything in your entire life to ever get a laugh? Or that you have never done something to get a reward just for yourself by slightly changing the circumstances to better fit you? Or have you never in you ENTIRE LIFE ever taken advantage of somebody? If you answer NO...you are a liar. I have had no hard feelings for you in the past and even though you want me banned I still dont. Saying that I need to be banned?...what is up with that?

LETS GET THIS STRAIT
At first I put the ad up as a joke. Seriously thought people would not bid on it. To my amazement I found that not just one person bid on it but actually a lot of people did. Is that my fault.....NOT AT ALL!

So for you to say that I am the one who decieved these ignorant people or that I screwed somebody over is just rediculous. I think that you are going overboard with what you are saying. Did I force these people to bid on it?

I dont understand what you guys are so mad about? It was a good laugh. I had never heard of people doing that before. I seriously did not think that anybody would bid on a freaking box.

One more thing......if I really wanted to be an ******* then I would have made him pay for the box. He couldnt have proven that I commited fraud. I clearly described what I was selling. And after you win the auction you HAVE to pay.....or me and ebay could take him to court. SO all this crap about me getting into trouble with ebay is B.S.

Definately didnt expect the thread to go this far...or have this feedback.

i pity you.
lack of character haha or maybe i just have common sence--why dont you put your self in the buyers position if you can tell me that you could spend 300 bux without even thinking about it- just clickin the mouse and being done with it then i guess money is no object in life for you.. so for you ya you dont care what your buying as long as it seems to be what you want you would just bid on it for the hell of it...ethically what should have happened is this--
1-he listed a box for sale
2ppl bid
3 somone wins
4 somone pays
5 game over

i dont kno what you wanna call it..but way to many times have i had to deal with stuff where -- "o sorry we cant return that shirt (or any other purchase)" even tho they dont fit/work right--just because i dont have the receipt and i just want a diff size/model or new one. so what the heck am i gonna do with some cloths that dont fit me/things that dont work...its the same damn thing.. do you expect to bid on somthing on ebay and then not pay for it? i dunno but i hope your not one of those ppl that bid on stuff just for fun and then never pays.

but whatever--i kno im a decent guy, i kno when i sell things ppl kno what their buying and neveer have complained- i kno that i have good morals and values

i see the winning of an auction aas a contract- you win- YOU PAY!!!!!!!

im done with this thread and i agree with each one of the ppl who think that he should have paid due to lack of reading ability

I apologize for getting anyone a lil excited:loser: but hey whatever i dont disrespect anyone for giving their opinion (everyones aloud to have an opinion, doesnt mean their right or wrong tho) ..but i mean what the hell feel how you want.

i have said it a couple of times in this thread...I am not saying the people who bid on the Box are smart...that so far from what anyone has said that has a different point of view of the thread starter....read what we are actually saying and you might learn something

but I am done with this thread...it is hard for anyone to see it from someone else's POV

Moved to where it really belongs. Keep it somewhat civil or it dies completely.

I suggested a ban based on the thousands of people who read this board that are seeing a board member bragging about an ebay scam he issued. It makes us all look bad even though you are the person who did this. I guess everyone has made their point here and the best course of action is to just agree to disagree. Details aside...the basis of your actions were wrong and unethical.
I didnt scam anybody. To you that maybe what it looks like and that is great that you have a set or morals that you stand strong by. Nobody is perfect. example....people laugh at others downfall. In another thread you thought it was funny that somebody got into an accident by staring at another mustang. Yes it might be funny in some casses but you could say at the same time.....they got screwed because the mustang was driving next to them on purpose. That mustang driver screwed that man over.....is that logical? Not really. You getting mad about what I did just for a laugh not knowing it was gonna sell for that much is totaly crazy. The person who bidded on it was in control not me. And besides I never screwed him over at all. Did he pay what he bidded? NO. Before you start attacking me I would really like to understand your thought process. I still have no hard feelings for everybody on here and will always give advise to others if they need it and think of everybody on this board as a friend!

Wow... missed this...

1rst off... He didnt scam anyone or do anything wrong what so ever.

He listed as an x-box BOX

Then expained that all it was was an empty box...

And some illiterate idiots bid hundreds of dollars on it...

HOWEVER!

This is a prime example of why when buying anything online you should...

A. READ EVERYTHING
B. Research what yer buying, find a value
C. (if car) check the item's history

other then that... all I can say is... wow, what a ****in moron...

I swore I would not come back to this thread! ha ha ha ha....greg, I think the reason people, including myself said he was scamming someone is because he knew exactly what he was doing when puting the XBox--Box up for sale. He knew that someone wouldn't read it closely and would bid a lot of money for it and he wanted to be funny. If he GENUINELY wanted to sale the box that would be a different story, but he was doing it to be disingenuous.

I agree with you 100% about reading everything and researching before you buy on Ebay...I might not like what he did, but I think many of us learned to be careful on ebay!
