ok so i go down to the smog shop get may car inline and wait and hour or so. Then my car was up and the guy was taking a long time looking under the hood.
He then calls me over and says your intake doesn't have some numbers that are needed. and thats its not legal. NOT LEGAL AHHHHHHH!!!!! what the heck its the one off of AM. so i dont want to revert it to stock so does anyone know of a
CA legal intake. i think K & N has one but im not sure any suggestions

 

K&N...they come with a CARB sticker for your state I believe.

yea the K&N has the CARB cetification plaque mounted right on it. Thats what I would go with. They actually look pretty good underhood compared to a chrome CAI.....

 

yeah i have one, its on the radiator cover. You need one in Cali...its gay.

 

try to find your intake online and printout the carb serial number. see if that will work. if not go to other smog places. your bound to find one that doesnt care whats under your hood

 

it still surprises me that a state like Cali has rules like that...given all the other horrible crap that happens there each day...crime, illegals...etc.

talk about mixed up priorities.

yep, that's why I only used K&N intakes. You guys bitch and complain about smog rules, but you just wait cause your time is coming. Don't know when, but if you live in any kind of a populated area it's just a matter of time.

thats why we have smog + we have mexico down the road

 

we used to have fairly strict emissions...then it was deemed pointless I guess...so bye bye it went and we all said HELLO to automotive modification freedom. this is AMERICA for crying out loud.
